I have been involved with theatre in one way or another for
most of my life... starting with my first ballet class at
age 6! Throughout the years, I have flirted with all the
aspects of theatre, from performing, stage managing, scenic
work, and lighting... and finally finding my niche in the
areas of writing and directing, although I still love to
perform when I have the opportunity. I majored in theatre at
NYU, and have worked steadily in the industry since...
except during a 4 year hiatus of being a youth minister. It
has been a long time dream to combine my two passions, my
Catholic Faith, and the Arts, and I am grateful beyond
imagining that the dream has finally come true.
Associate Director of C.A.S.T. Nichole Jackson holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Rollins College
in Mathematics with a Minor in Dance and many Theatre and Production credit hours.
She also has a Graduate Certificate in Christian Spirituality from Loyola New Orleans and
is completing her Master’s Degree at Rollins in Liberal Studies with credits in Literature,
Classics, Humanities, History, Philosophy, Music, Art, Film and Theatre. Preparation has begun
for her thesis project: writing a contemporary reimagination of Plato’s Symposium for the stage.
Performance credits include 4 years of Entertainment at EPCOT, 2 Habitat for Humanity Dinner
Theater Shows at St. Mary Magdalen Church (Magesque and Peter Pan) as well as Cole Porter’s
Anything Goes on the Annie Russell Stage and numerous dance concerts. Her varied background
as a teacher includes pre-K3, Elementary Religious Education and High School English in
addition to many years as an instructor and choreographer at dance schools in the Central
Florida area. Nichole enjoyed co-directing C.A.S.T. ministry’s inaugural show, Joseph and
the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Pat Rush has been indirectly involved with theatre for almost thirty years. Once married to a
professionally trained actor, she learned very quickly (and painfully) that her particular
talents and gifts do not include being on stage. Thankfully there are many ways to contribute
to a theatre ministry and Pat has happily taken on the role of advertising and promotion for C.A.S.T.
A chairperson of the community Booth at CommunityFest for several years, Pat has both a knowledge
and comfort level with local area businesses. That experience will allow C.A.S.T. to become known
within the community and provide the opportunity to seek various types of donations in the way of
goods and services. And since Pat has never been accused of being soft spoken, promoting and getting
the word out about this wonderful new ministry is a perfect fit. In addition to her work with C.A.S.T.,
Pat is an Audire trained Spiritual Director, and the proud mom of Chris and Jackie.
She has worked at the hospital in Sanford for 23 years as a supervisor in the laboratory.
She is proud to be married to her husband Joe for 23 years. He is a piano teacher and
country band member. They have 3 teenage children. All of her children have been a part
of Saint Mary Magdalen since baptism. She is a new member of the board and eager to be
involved and learn more behind the scenes. Her organizational skills are outstanding
and she loves photography.
Cathie Bucko- Events Coordinator / Donations
(jbucko6@aol.com)
She and her family lived in Central Florida for 14 years,
the last 9 of which they have been members of St. Mary
Magdalen. She and her husband, Jim, both grew up in
Illinois – he was on the south side of Chicago, and she was
in Elmhurst, a western suburb of Chicago. They met at St.
Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota and have been married
for 23 years. They have five precious children -- Brendan,
18; Colin, 16; Erin, 13; Hannah, 13; and Isabella, 3. As
for personal interests, photography is a passion of hers and
something she hopes to dedicate more time to in the future.
She loves to read and horseback ride as well. Currently,
both Cathie and Jim are on the Men's and Women's CROC teams
after having made the retreats last year. She first became
involved with the Habitat Dinner Theatre somewhat by
accident with the production of Peter Pan. Her daughters,
Erin and Hannah, wanted to try out for the part of the
twins. They talked her into auditioning for the part of
Mrs. Darling, and all three of them ended up being cast in
those roles. It was a wonderful experience for them and,
ever since then, the whole family has been involved not only
with the Habitat Show every year but with the Living
Stations of the Cross, the Bread and the Word skits, the Art
Show and the summer stock productions. She is very happy to
serve on the Board and to be a part of CAST Ministry.
